Good to see Lucketti back, but at 36, not sure about giving him a two year contract.

So Lucketti it is! A decent signing imo who should bring some experience to the back to help the younger lads like Page did. I'd now like to see another striker - Steady would be ideal, but it is unlikely to happen. Plenty to be positive about anyway - can't wait for the season to start.

Shall we talk football for a change? I am sure many will be pleased to see Lucketi back, but it does pose a few questions. Will Butler and Lucketi be the favoured central pairing in defence? Will he play three at the back? Does Stan prefer NC or DM? Also, will Andy H move back to right back? How about midfield. Are JW and JG the same type of player, will he pair JG with MC? Your thoughts please..

Stan/Dean, please give Steven Gillespie the number 10 shirt. He will cost, but he would be sensational for us.

If Pardew rates Dorian that much he would have improved his contract before the end of the season?Hope we are after Kerr and get him, it would show lcfc and lufc that we mean biz!If the management show some bottle for a change quality players will want to play for,and do well for us.

Back in May I asked if anyone knew what formation Stan favoured.
The only response was that it didn't matter as we couldn't affect players coming in.
Now we have a left-footed defender, holding midfielder and pacy winger??? does anyone want to to tell me who they are going to replace in the starting line-up from the team Gerry was playing?

Good on ya Steve Pogson, we av srong feelings about our beloved club and as you rightly say things are said out of context. We all need to get behind Town in what is a truly exciting time and as Philip says the key is patience.Hello Chris in Barnsley ill let you know which games ive over for(Hopefully Stockport) and planning on bringing a few lads over for a big game so we ll be drinking Huddersfield dry, COME ON THE TOWN

With regards to the so called freebies. Please don't forget the club are paying these players signing on fees plus ex number of £k per week. I am more than happy with the signings so far and if the cost us only a signing on fee all the better. Plus 16k season tickets sold, the glass is full.

Town to sign Gary Roberts (winger) from Ipswich.
You heard it here first !
How anybody can be negative at the moment is beyond me. Record season ticket sales, a great finish to the previous season ( including a victory over the sworn enemy ) and new signings on board .Stan seems to have identified targets and brought them in . The signings seem to be solid players proven at our level, I for one cannot wait for the start of the season as we have nothing to fear in that division.

who needs supporters when we have gareth from bucks,he doesnt rate butler who only played due to injuries,if thats the case Scunny must be the unluckiest team in the league for him to have played 37 out of 46 games, if hes so poor why did they offer him a 2 year contract to stay ?
Well done Stan.More signings to come.Glad to see some constructive comments info on the messageboard a reduction in the bitching.I'd like to see us have a go for Byfield from Millwall-if only to annoy L***s.

I take it 2 of the 3 signings predicted last week have fallen through. I still think we need an experienced centre half and a right back (unless Holdsworth is going to revert to RB or we are going to play 3 at the back - DM, NC and AB?). The key to this season is how good we will be defensively. We have conceded too many goals over the last 2 or 3 seasons which has prevented us making a stong challenge for promotion.

Im worried by stans comments on the official site this morning which hints at a possible end to the spending. What spending? We were told that other clubs cast offs were not good enough any more and that Town would bid for other clubs players, what a load of rubbish. Again like every season its 7 players out, 3 in and not a dime spent. If Hoyle carries on like this then he will get off on a bad footing.
just read The comments from Stan on the web site, still got irons in the fire, We MIGHT bring in. you NEED to bring at least three more, sqd of 23 listed, of which 3 are keepers.not big enough, and still lack of Real Quality. Right Back/leftwinger.creative midfielder.
Richard Mullany from Waterford Eire: Thanks for your constructive comments. I was annoyed at being quoted totally out of context, which is unfair, but then again what can we expect from some of this lot. I have never initiated conflict on here, but suppose I need to stop responding to it and concentrate on football matters.
Now then, arfempty, or DC as you are better known, I have interrupted my crochet to visit Provence so will not be able to organise your Galpharm visits until I return on July 11. However, I'm sure Mr. Kilvington can cope more than adequately in my absence!

Dorian Smith joined Charlton from Tooting earlier this year, Pardew rates him, but he is available now because he only signed a contract to the end of the season.

According to www.footballtransferleague.co.uk there are some Championship clubs after Mark Kerr as well as L***s and Leicester. If we get him it'll be even more good news.Aberdeen were looking at him too.I think our Stan could sell a fridge to an Eskimo.
As well as being a Town supporter since 1972 and a season ticket holder for the coming season I have being following Tooting and Mitcham since 1958 and can give details on Dorian Smith who played for Tooting Mitcham last season and was signed by Charlton Athletic midway through the campaign. Dorian is a good midfield player who had quite a few excellent games for the Tooting players. There are many good players in non league Chris Dickson springs to mind who played against Tooting and is at Charlton and did well on loan at Gillingham. I hope Town can get promoted next season especially for my son Andrew who travels up each week from South London to watch his beloved Terriers and costs him a small fortune over a season. Town have been a sleeping giant for too long and their loyal fans deserve some cheer.
